Bekasi residents are asked by KPK to oversee the Meikarta Project Bribery Session

JurnalUpdate. Four alleged bribes of Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and his staff, Biilly Sindoro, Henry Jasmen Sitohang, Fitradjaja Purnama and Taryudi will undergo the inaugural trial.

The trial was held today, Wednesday, morning at the Corruption Court in Bandung, West Java. The agenda of the session, the prosecutor will read out the charges that have been prepared beforehand.

For this trial, KPK Spokesperson Febri Diansyah asked the community, especially Bekasi residents, to monitor the trial, especially the Meikarta project in Bekasi Regency, West Java.

"So we hope the community can oversee this trial. Moreover, this is related to the interests of the people of Bekasi," Febri said.

In this case, the KPK determined Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin as a suspect in a suspected bribery case related to the Meikartadi Bekasi project development permit.

Besides the Regent of Neneng, the KPK ensnared eight other people in this case. They are the Head of the Public Works Office of the Bekasi District Government, Jamaludi; Head of Bekasi District Government Damascus Service, Sahat MBJ Nahar; Head of Bekasi Regency DPMPTSP Office, Dewi Tisnawati; and Head of the Spatial Planning Division of the Bekasi District PUPR Office, Neneng Rahmi.

There is also a private party named Billy Sindoro who is the Operational Director of Lippo Group, Taryudi and Fitra Djajaja Purnama as consultants for Lippo Group, and Henry Jasmen, employee of Lippo Group.

Meikarta is one of the prestigious projects owned by Lippo Group, the project owner of the Meikarta is PT Mahkota Sentosa Utama, a subsidiary of PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk. PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk is a subsidiary of PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk.

Overall, the investment value of the Meikarta project is estimated at Rp. 278 trillion.
Meikarta became Lippo Group's biggest project for 67 years, the business group owned by Mochtar Riady was established.

Billy Sindoro allegedly gave Rp. 7 billion to Bekasi Regent Neneng Hasanah Yasin and his subordinates regarding the management of a Meikarta development project permit.

Money is alleged to have been promised a fee of Rp13 billion related to the process of obtaining a permit for the Meikarta project. The linkage between a number of agencies is because the project is quite complex, which has plans to build apartments, shopping centers, hospitals, and educational facilities.
